About Dragonstone

Dragonstone builds complete habitat kits for leopard geckos and bearded dragons, so new keepers don't have to piece a setup together from conflicting advice and mismatched gear.

Why we started

Most starter kits are built around a price point, not around the animal. They ship with coil UVB bulbs and heat sources with no thermostat. Keepers then spend months, and a lot of money, replacing everything. We put together the setup we would want on day one and made it one complete kit.

How we build a kit

  • Linear T5 UVB, matched to the species. A Zoo Med ReptiSun 5.0 T5 HO in a reflector hood for leopard geckos, and an Arcadia 12% ProT5 with reflector for bearded dragons.
  • Heat on a dimming thermostat. Bearded dragons get halogen basking lamps on a proportional dimming thermostat for bright, sun-like heat. Leopard geckos get a deep-heat infrared basking lamp in a dome with a built-in dimming thermostat. Either way, the temperature holds steady instead of switching on and off.
  • Measure everything. Every kit includes thermo-hygrometers (two in the dragon kit, three with remote probes in the gecko kit so the humid hide gets one too), an infrared temperature gun and a UV index meter, so you can check your setup instead of guessing.
  • The extras that are easy to forget. The gecko kit includes three hides (one a humid hide with a built-in water basin), food and water dishes, calcium and multivitamin supplements, and a reptile-safe disinfectant. The dragon kit includes a non-adhesive liner you can shake out, wipe or rinse.
  • Printed guides in every box. A Quick-Start card, a target-temperature card and a safety card, written for the kit you bought. Every UVB tube is checked with a UV meter before it ships.

Tankless by design

Kits ship without an enclosure. Enclosures are bulky, fragile and expensive to ship, and many keepers already own one or want to choose their own. Each kit is sized for a specific enclosure footprint, listed on its product page. The leopard gecko kit also leaves the choice of substrate to you.
